This research will support the project on Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) for Bengaluru City. Responsibilities Collect and analyse spatial and temporal data on Bengaluru s urban hydrology, including rainfall patterns, drainage networks, and land use and land cover, using publicly available data, including IMD, CWC, and other gridded datasets. Develop, calibrate, and validate urban flood models using SWMM, HEC-RAS, or GIS-based hydrological tools. Examine historical flood events and assess their impact on urban communities and ecosystems and simulate flood scenarios under various climate change projections (e.g. RCP scenarios) to assess future flood risks. Document methodologies, findings, and insights in a comprehensive report, including data analysis, model outcomes, and actionable recommendations for flood risk mitigation. Qualifications Master s degree or higher in climate science, hydrology, environmental engineering, urban planning, or related fields. Previous experience with urban flood modelling and GIS mapping is a must.
