Job Description Job Summary: The consultant - Network & Security role encompasses the lead technical advisor responsibilities for working with our valued clients on large-scale, multi-site global projects to deploy network solutions. The Sr. Engineer - Networks will work with important internal and external contacts on the deployment and rollout of network infrastructure and security related efforts. Experience in designing and deploying network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls etc.) within an Industrial Network. Understanding of multiple industry standards including ISA, ANSI, NEMA, NERC, IDC, NEC and NIST standards. Experience in PLC, Networking and SCADA design/programming including data extraction and data analysis. Solid technical skills with multiple Ethernet protocols including EtherNet/IP, specifically round assessment, design and implementation of complex systems. Ability to handle multiple projects / interactions, and to work with different global teams, clients and vendors including those in international regions. Familiarity with a variety of networking and security concepts, practices and procedures, to include manufacturing and enterprise network convergence, network protocols, communication optimization, application effects on system performance and human exploitation techniques on the manufacturing network. Experience in developing and deploying solutions in a virtual environment. Design, implement and support important global customers', converged business and manufacturing/industrial networks and user needs to be in parallel with their overall business strategies. Write detailed documentation that includes customer requirements, system specifications, observed issues with remediation recommendations or implementation plans to develop manufacturing infrastructure. Design, recommend and implement network infrastructure and associated configuration changes. Design customer secure manufacturing architectures and provide vision, problem anticipation, and solution to customers. The Essentials - You Will Have Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology or related technology-driven degree. If no degree, 8+ years of experience in Network Designing & Implementation Virtualization and Industrial Security Controls. 8+ years of hands-on experience configuring IT/OT network infrastructure equipment (Cisco Switches, Virtual Server Environments, Cisco ASA, Fortigate/Palo Alto Firewalls,Anti-Virus Software). 5+ years of exp. in Industrial Networking related experience. In-depth understanding of Ethernet/IP and CIP protocol. Previous experience working as part of a large, diverse global team completing full project life-cycle implementations. Travel Requirements: - Flexibility for travel 50% - 60% is required and can include both domestic and international trips. Legal authorization to work in the country of residence is required. You must be flexible to undergo 40% to 50% of business travel. About The Role The Telematics Solution position will report into the HARMAN Engineering organization and will be responsible for researching and the delivering software, POCs for automotive embedded devices, which are for automotive grade products. Telematics is the key foundational technology for the connected car and autonomous driving. It includes technology like LTE modems and network access devices (NADs) as well as wireless standards e.g. BT/Wi-Fi, GNSS, NFC etc. are one of the fastest growing areas. What You Will Do Design, develop, and test scalable and maintainable embedded Linux applications for the automotive Telematics Applications domain, ensuring optimal performance across CPU, memory, disk, power, and network usage. Collaborate in the design and development of applications within domains such as Emergency Calling (eCall/PSAP), OTA/Software Updates, Location/Positioning, Data Collection/Real-time Monitoring, and Connectivity (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, NFC). Analyze and translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with functional and non-functional goals. Create comprehensive design artifacts including use cases, user stories, sequence diagrams, state diagrams, block diagrams, and class diagrams for both high-level and low-level design. Develop reusable and efficient C/C++ code, adhering to automotive-grade standards and best practices. Identify and define software components, dependencies, and interfaces, and contribute to work breakdown structures, estimation, and scheduling across all phases of the development lifecycle. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams focused on Telematics applications to ensure cohesive and reliable software solutions. Partner with product and program management teams to support planning and execution of new product launches and feature releases. Actively contribute to team discussions with innovative ideas and problem-solving approaches; proactively engage with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues. What You Need to Be Successful Masters/Bachelor s degree in electrical, communications, computer engineering or a similar discipline. Should have 5 -to-7 years of overall experience. Working experience with Linux on an embedded platform, including build environments. Hands on experience with Debugging using GDB and ability to analyze back traces. Strong understanding of embedded platform concepts (at least a few) e.g boot procedure, location-based applications, Calling & Data (LTE) applications, or similar applications in wi-fi, BT, NFC etc. Knowledge of Open Embedded, Bitbake and package management is a strong plus. Resourcefulness in understanding integration problems. Create reusable and scalable C, C++ code. Proficient understanding of STL (Standard Template Library): containers and algorithms. Good understanding of Linux IPC (Inter Process Communication) mechanisms like sockets, message ques, shared memory. Working experience in multithreading environment and thread synchronization techniques. Working experience with industry standard version control systems like GIT, Gerrit. Working experience with Gtest based C++ unit test framework. Good written and oral communication skills to collaborate with teams across geographies.
