Job Description

As a Manufacturing Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to install and qualify new process equipment, as well as troubleshoot day-to-day manufacturing issues on the production line promptly. You will be required to address tool downtime issues, yield and quality concerns, and develop strategies to prevent recurring problems. Additionally, you will play a key role in identifying and implementing system improvements to enhance throughput, yield, and product performance metrics. To excel in this role, you should possess experience in process or equipment engineering, particularly in thin-film deposition processes or thermal processing in the semiconductor or glass industry. Proficiency in PLC and Controls, Vision system knowledge, Statistical Data Analysis, and Metrology is essential. Your strong problem-solving skills, expertise in Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, and structured problem-solving methods like DMAIC will be critical in driving process improvements. In terms of education and experience, we are looking for candidates with an Engineering degree in a technical discipline and at least 3 years of Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of General Electronics, General Mechanical Systems, and experience in applying Robust Engineering principles will be advantageous. Your essential functions and responsibilities will include developing and documenting robust manufacturing processes for solar modules, collaborating with the development team to integrate manufacturing requirements, conducting experiments to optimize process parameters, and resolving production, equipment, and process issues. You will also be responsible for equipment evaluation, installation, and qualification, as well as data collection and analysis for performance evaluation. Furthermore, you will be expected to provide training to operators, technicians, and new engineers, drive continuous improvement initiatives using six-sigma methodologies, and mentor junior engineers and technicians. Developing Process Control Plans, Preventive Maintenance Plans, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety standards are integral aspects of this role. This position requires the ability to work autonomously, communicate effectively with internal associates and suppliers, travel domestically and internationally as needed, and adhere to safety procedures and good housekeeping practices. Additionally, you should be physically capable of performing tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and using personal protective equipment.
