Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Operate EDM machines (Wire Cut, Die Sinking, CNC EDM) for precision machining of mould components. Set up tools, electrodes, and fixtures based on job requirements. Read and interpret engineering drawings, tool designs, and CAD data for machining operations. Monitor machine performance and ensure machining accuracy within tolerances. Perform regular machine maintenance and electrode dressing. Work with toolmakers and engineers to achieve dimensional accuracy in tooling. Document machining activities and maintain job records. Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. Requirements: ITI/Diploma in Tool & Die Making / Mechanical or equivalent. 2–5 years of experience in EDM operations within a moulding/tool room setup. Strong understanding of EDM machine programming and parameter settings. Knowledge of tool steel properties and electrode materials. Ability to use precision measurement tools (micrometers, height gauges, etc.). Basic understanding of CAD/CAM and spark erosion techniques. Preferred Skills: Experience with brands like Makino, Charmilles, Mitsubishi, Electronica , etc. Hands-on experience with electrode manufacturing and copper/graphite electrode use. Familiar with mould inserts, core/cavity EDMing, and complex profiles. Ability to work in shifts and meet production deadlines.
