Door systems Design

Role Overview:

Responsible for the design and development of door systems and related components including mechanisms, sealing parts, plastics, rubber, glasses, and mirrors, focusing on cost and weight optimization while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Involves parts and vehicle-level testing and homologation activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead design and development of door systems aligned with project schedules.
• Design door parts and systems ensuring adherence to regulations, safety targets, manufacturing feasibility, and Design Validation Plan (DVP) requirements.
• Perform virtual and physical validation of parts and vehicle-level testing.
• Estimate cost and weight at the part and sub-system levels.
• Plan and implement countermeasures based on design and quality reviews, testing results, and production/market feedback.
• Coordinate closely with business partners for parts development and integration.
• Contribute to advanced engineering projects including localization and cost reduction initiatives.

Technical/Functional Skills:

• Experience in design or development of one or more of the following:
• Door systems
• Door mechanism parts
• Sealing parts
• Plastics, rubber components
• Glasses and mirrors
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and cost estimation for parts.
• Hands-on experience with part and vehicle-level testing and benchmarking.
• Proficient in root cause analysis supported by design calculations.
• Expertise in CAD modeling (2D & 3D), preferably with Unigraphics (UG-NX).
