Design Engineer (Substation)

The role requires you to have a strong understanding of substation design ranging from 66kV to 765 kV AIS and GIS. You will be responsible for various activities related to substation engineering, such as the preparation and review of engineering documents. As a qualified candidate, you should hold a BE or B.Tech. degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering from a reputable university. Additionally, you should possess 5-15 years of experience in substation engineering. Your key competencies should include an advanced level of knowledge in substation engineering and design. You should be familiar with various standards such as IS, IEEE, CBIP, CEA, IEC, as well as national and international codes and regulations. Proficiency in software tools like AutoCAD and MS Office is also required. Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables like design basis reports, detailed engineering drawings, and design calculations for substations. You will also be involved in coordinating with project planning managers to ensure project deliveries align with schedules and costs. Additionally, you will participate in discussions and project review meetings with customers, consultants, and OEMs. Furthermore, you will need to collaborate with internal stakeholders such as electrical, civil, and mechanical engineering teams, project managers, and external agencies for the timely submission and approval of engineering documents. Monitoring engineering document management activities and providing technical support for root cause analysis in case of failures are also part of your responsibilities. Moreover, you will be expected to explore new technology initiatives for asset utilization and cost optimization. Your role will involve staying updated on the latest technological advancements for system improvements while adhering to technical specifications. In addition, you will contribute to engineering process developments, standardization, and document management system enhancements. Overall, you should demonstrate excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
