Deputy Manager / Manager - Vendor Management

Role & responsibilities

• New Product Development:

  Lead the design and development of industrial chains and machined components across divisions and sprockets. Conduct feasibility analysis and cost estimation for customer enquiries. Collaborate with cross-functional teamsmarketing, manufacturing, sourcing, and qualityto ensure successful product development and customer satisfaction. Support greenfield project part development and import substitution through local sourcing.

• Customer Engagement & Technical Support:

  Visit customers to understand application requirements and provide technical inputs. Support sales and marketing by identifying new applications and preparing marketing aids and technical documentation.

• Process and Cost Optimization:

  Drive new process development and continuous process improvements. Lead cost reduction initiatives, value engineering (VA/VE), and implementation of design/engineering changes. Monitor and manage pricing updates for sprocket suppliers in line with raw material fluctuations and logistics costs.

• Supplier Development & Management:

  Establish and monitor supplier quality management systems and statutory compliance, including EMS systems. Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and corrective action reviews for incoming rejections. Identify and develop alternate sources, manage supplier rationalization, and conduct training sessions. Implement Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) concepts to ensure timely delivery for OE/SPD schedules and RP sprockets.

• Compliance & Documentation:

  Ensure adherence to ISO/TS, EMS, and API audit requirements, including internal and supplier audits. Manage documentation control, engineering change implementation, and support audits for new and existing customers. Secure Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with critical suppliers.

Preferred candidate profile

• Proven experience in vendor development with a strong background in

  machining

  processes.
• In-depth understanding of supply chain, cost management, and quality systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage suppliers, cross-functional teams, and customer interactions.
• Knowledge of ISO/TS standards, EMS requirements, and supplier quality protocols.
