Role & responsibilities

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets (monthly, quarterly, yearly).
  • Develop proposals, quotes, and tenders for IT infrastructure solutions.

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Engage with CIOs, IT heads, procurement teams, and decision-makers.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Conduct regular meetings and follow-ups with clients to ensure satisfaction.

3. Solution Selling

  • Understand client IT environments, pain points, and business needs.
  • Propose infrastructure solutions (e.g., cloud migration, data centre setup, network upgrades) that solve real problems.
  • Work with technical pre-sales teams to design and present solutions.

4. Product & Market Knowledge

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IT products and services:
    • Servers (e.g., Dell, HPE)
    • Storage (e.g., NetApp, EMC)
    • Networking (e.g., Cisco, Juniper)
    • Cloud (AWS, Azure, private cloud)
    • Cybersecurity (firewalls, endpoint protection)
  • Keep tabs on industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies.

5. Collaboration

  • Coordinate with internal teams: technical pre-sales, solution architects, project managers, and support teams.
  • Collaborate with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and distributors.

6. Sales Process Management

  • Use CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho) for tracking and reporting.
  • Follow sales lifecycle from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts and pricing.

7. Post-Sales Engagement

  • Ensure smooth handover to the delivery/implementation teams.
  • Support upselling and cross-selling during and after delivery.

  • Revenue target achievement
  • Number of new accounts acquired
  • Sales pipeline health
  • Customer satisfaction score (CSAT/NPS)
  • Deal conversion rate

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Technical aptitude to understand complex solutions
  • Prior experience in B2B IT sales
  • Bachelor's degree in business, IT, or engineering preferred
