Busbar Fitter / Busbar Technician

Job Summary:

The Busbar Fitter / Busbar Technician is responsible for the accurate cutting, bending, drilling, assembly, and installation of copper or aluminum busbars used in electrical panels, switchgear, or control panels. The technician ensures all work is completed to high-quality standards, following technical drawings and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and electrical layout diagrams for busbar fabrication.
• Measure, mark, cut, bend, drill, and assemble copper/aluminum busbars as per design specifications.
• Operate tools and equipment such as hydraulic busbar bending machines, punching machines, and cutting tools.
• Ensure precise alignment and secure fitting of busbars within electrical panels or switchgear.
• Perform necessary inspections and quality checks to ensure proper clearances, insulation, and finish.
• Install insulation sleeves, heat shrink tubing, or other protective materials on busbars as required.
• Follow strict safety procedures during fabrication and installation processes.
• Work collaboratively with panel assembly teams to ensure timely project completion.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
• Report any design discrepancies or material shortages to the supervisor.
• Assist in testing and commissioning of panels, if required.

Requirements:

• ITI, Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification in Electrical or Mechanical discipline.
• Proven experience in busbar fabrication, electrical panel assembly, or a similar role.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools and fabrication equipment (bending, punching, cutting machines).
• Good understanding of electrical safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit to handle tools and materials.

Preferred:

• Experience with both copper and aluminum busbar fabrication.
• Familiarity with international standards (e.g., IEC, UL, ISO) in electrical panel manufacturing.
• Basic understanding of electrical testing procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
