- Suggest suitable PLC and HMI models based on customer requirements and project specifications.
- Ensure proposed solutions are cost-effective, scalable, and meet industry standards.
- Provide customers with a detailed explanation of the recommended automation architecture, hardware, and programming approach.
- Develop a comprehensive Input/Output (I/O) list for the automation system, specifying the required hardware components, sensors, and control devices.
- Collaborate with the electrical design team to integrate the automation system with the electrical control panel and other components.
- Ensure the I/O list accurately reflects customer requirements and is aligned with the overall system design.
- Engage in detailed discussions with the customer to gather all necessary information about the application s sequence, logic, and functionality.
- Interpret customer requirements into a well-defined functional specification, ensuring clear communication of the automation process.
- Develop the control logic for PLCs and HMI screens based on customer input, ensuring the solution is intuitive and meets operational expectations.
- Develop, simulate, and debug PLC programs using programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or Function Block Diagram.
- Create and configure HMI screens for user interface and control, ensuring user-friendly operation of the automation system.
- Conduct in-house testing to ensure all programs function according to the desired logic before implementation at the customer s site.
- Make necessary adjustments based on customer feedback during the testing and validation phases.
- Provide remote or onsite support to assist with system commissioning, troubleshooting issues that arise during installation, and ensuring smooth project completion.
- Collaborate with the customer s technical team to validate the performance of the system and resolve any technical challenges.
- Stay available for telephonic or video support to address post-commissioning issues or provide guidance during maintenance.
- Create detailed technical documentation, including operation manuals, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting guides, for the developed application.
- Perform a formal handover of the project to the customer, ensuring all documentation and manuals are provided, and offering a comprehensive explanation of system functionality.
- Conduct formal training sessions for customers on the operation of PLC and HMI systems, focusing on system logic, fault diagnosis, and maintenance procedures.
- Train internal teams (including production, maintenance, and engineering departments) on HMI and PLC programming to ensure they can provide ongoing support.
- Review and validate electrical panel wiring diagrams to confirm they are aligned with customer requirements and the approved I/O list.
- Coordinate with the electrical team to ensure all panel components are correctly integrated with the automation system and meet safety and industry standards.
- Monthly, compile and hand over project details, including source code, documentation, and configuration files, to the IT department for archiving and future reference.
- Ensure all relevant project data is stored securely and can be easily retrieved for future updates or troubleshooting.
- Develop detailed application notes to document the solution provided, including a description of the problem, the methodology used, and how the automation solution addresses customer requirements.
