1 The Geomechanics Specialist will provide basic modeling support across various disciplines and functions to enable safe operations reducing environmental risk, enhance field productivity ensure reserves, and safeguard the system integrity reliability. The position supports the construction, setup and execution of well and reservoir geomechanical models that are integral to upstream activities. The role brings together working subsurface knowledge and expertise in a growing technical area with significant impact and overlap with Shale and Tight, Carbon Sequestration, Deepwater and Heavy Oil assets. The role requires close collaboration with subject matter experts and chapter managers in Chevron Technical Center located in Houston to maintain workflow alignment. Key responsibilities: Conduct analyses to address geomechanical challenges such as: fracturing, fault reactivation, subsidence/compaction, PI decline, fractured injector performance, wellbore stability, sand production, induced seismicity, etc. Develop Finite Element reservoir and well scale meshes and provide quality assurance of meshes. Populate numerical geomechanical models with geological and geophysical data, rock properties and, relevant pressure and temperature conditions under collaboration with relevant subject matter experts in Chevron Technical Center located in Houston. Execute numerical geomechanics models, extract relevant data and manage results repository. Conduct Finite Element modeling and or coupled flow and geomechanics modeling.
