• Patient Preparation:X-ray technicians explain procedures to patients, address their concerns, and prepare them for the exam by positioning them correctly and using immobilization devices if needed.
• Equipment Operation:They operate X-ray equipment, ensuring proper settings and techniques to produce high-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure to the patient and themselves.
• Image Evaluation:Technicians assess the quality of the images, ensuring they are suitable for interpretation by a radiologist. They may also make adjustments to equipment or positioning to improve image clarity.
• Record Keeping:They maintain accurate patient records, including the procedure performed, images taken, and any relevant patient information.
• Radiation Safety:X-ray technicians adhere to strict radiation safety protocols to protect themselves and patients from unnecessary exposure.
• Collaboration:They work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals, communicating effectively to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment.
