Urban Designer

Job Description

Responsibilities Develop and implement urban design strategies and plans. Conduct site analysis and research to inform design decisions. Collaborate with architects, planners, engineers, and other stakeholders. Prepare design proposals, drawings, and presentations. Present design ideas to clients, public officials, and community members. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in urban design. Participate in public consultations and community engagement activities. Evaluate the environmental, social, and economic impact of design proposals. Provide technical guidance and support to project teams. Review and critique design proposals from other team members. Manage project timelines and budgets. Coordinate with contractors and construction teams during project implementation. Prepare reports and documentation for project approvals. Advocate for sustainable and inclusive urban design practices. Requirements Bachelors or Masters degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field. Proven experience in urban design and planning. Strong portfolio showcasing urban design projects. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards. Experience with community engagement and public consultation processes. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Creative and innovative thinking. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Commitment to sustainable and inclusive design practices. Ability to travel to project sites as needed. Professional licensure or certification is a plus.
