Job Description:

The candidate should be proficient in CAD software and capable of independently handling New Product Development (NPD) based on customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze customer drawings and develop product designs, process layouts, tool and gauge designs accordingly.
  
• Execute NPD trials to validate part design and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  
• Design tools and dies for cold forging operations and fastener manufacturing.
  
• Prepare detailed 2D & 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  
• Support cross-functional teams (Production, QA, and Tool Room) during trial runs and tooling improvements.
  
• Ensure the feasibility and manufacturability of designs while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
  
• Design and develop tooling for new products and assist with product drawings and approvals.

• Plan and execute APQP activities, prepare project timelines, handle change management, and escalate issues when necessary.

• Work with vendors and suppliers to adopt new technologies, materials, and cost-effective solutions.

• Participate in continuous improvement projects, engineering change activities, and process upgrades.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of cold forging process and tooling design.
  
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and material behavior.
  
• Ability to interpret and work from customer engineering drawings.
  
• Excellent problem-solving and project execution skills.
  

Qualifications:

• B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or Tool Engineering.
  
• 2 - 8 years of Experience in Tool and product design for cold forged fasteners.
  
• Experience in NPD trials and customer-based product validation is a plus.
