Staff Engineer, Imaging Software

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a Staff Engineer, Imaging Software to join their Engineering Group. With a focus on print interpreter software, you will play a crucial role in rendering for printer firmware. As a pioneer in the industry, Qualcomm's print language software supports all standard page description languages and their latest features. We are looking for adaptable professionals who are quick learners and can contribute to the design, development, and daily advancements in PDL feature sets on Linux platforms. Your responsibilities will include multisite design/development, customer/OEM support, and collaboration on Page Descriptive Language interpretation, imaging, display lists, rendering, color conversions, fonts, compression, print settings, device and job handling, and more. Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years of Software Engineering experience - Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 6+ years of Software Engineering experience - PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field Key Responsibilities: - Multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment - Comprehend and capture accurate requirements - Define tasks, create work breakdowns, and estimate tasks - Prioritize requests and communicate effectively - Develop and test software of major scale and complexity within agreed timescales - Maintain firmware software components and conduct peer reviews - Create documentation following department processes - Design firmware components for enhancement and adaptation - Deliver high-quality firmware in line with department processes - Contribute to continuous development of department processes Required Skills: - Proficient in C and/or C++ programming for high performance and memory constrained systems - Extensive product software development experience in embedded environments - Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills - Ability to provide work breakdowns, feasibility studies, effort estimates, and risk mitigation - Excellent communication skills for design documentation and complex features - Effective leadership skills for task planning, delivery, and team management - Prior experience in printer firmware development is a plus - Knowledge in raster and/or vector print data handling, image transformations, PDLs, fonts, color space, and rendering models Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing accommodations for individuals with disabilities during the application/hiring process.
