As a Shader Programmer, you will play a crucial role in developing visually stunning and immersive game environments. Your responsibilities will include utilizing mathematical concepts, including vectors, to create optimized and realistic shaders. You should have proficiency in High-Level Shading Language (HLSL) to develop custom shaders and achieve desired visual effects. Experience with Unity Shader Lab is required to create and optimize shaders for various platforms. Working knowledge of URP (Universal Render Pipeline) is essential to ensure compatibility and performance optimization of shaders. An understanding and implementation of color space management for accurate color representation in-game is crucial. You will also be responsible for implementing blend modes to achieve complex material interactions and effects, as well as designing and optimizing shaders for realistic lighting effects, including diffuse, specular highlights, and reflectivity. Familiarity with graphics APIs such as OpenGL, Vulkan, and Metal is preferred to optimize shaders for different platforms and hardware. Qualifications: - Strong proficiency in mathematics and vector operations. - Proficiency in HLSL and Unity Shader Lab. - Experience with URP and shader optimization techniques. - Knowledge of color space management and blend modes. - Familiarity with lighting techniques, including diffuse, specular, and reflectivity. - Experience working with graphics APIs such as OpenGL, Vulkan, and Metal is a plus. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The Lead Lighter collaborates with the show-side supervision team to help maintain and schedule tasks and assignments while ensuring the artists stay on track and deliver high-end photo-realistic CG characters and environments. You will create and design lighting for complex scenes, develop the look for assets, animation files, simulations, and effects elements. Working closely with supervisors and compositors, you will ensure that all elements delivered work as needed to achieve the desired look. Additionally, you will lead and mentor a team of artists, offering constructive and supportive feedback. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in a field of Digital Arts or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in visual effects for feature films. Previous leadership experience is required. Proficiency with 3ds Max and VRay is preferred, and experience with Maya -> VRay, Arnold, or other software will be considered. Your responsibilities will include multisite design/development, customer/OEM support, and collaboration on Page Descriptive Language interpretation, imaging, display lists, rendering, color conversions, fonts, compression, print settings, device and job handling, and more.
