Job Description

Job Title: Software Test Engineer

Experience: 6 to 10 Years

Location: Bangalore

Notice Period: Immediate Joiners Only

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SoftwareTest Engineer with a strong background in upstream oil & gasapplications and well engineering concepts. The ideal candidate should havehands-on experience with testing processes, automation frameworks, and toolsrelated to well planning and drilling applications such as WellCat, WellPlan,and Compass

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough testing to provide an objective assessment of product quality.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sprint stories and product features.

Develop detailed and comprehensive test cases based on acceptance criteria and test objectives.

Participate in sprint planning to represent testing perspectives and ensure testability of user stories.

Define and validate end-user workflows with support from subject matter experts.

Create and maintain test environments to validate functionality as per requirements/stories.

Ensure development changes do not adversely impact associated functionalities.

Log, document, and track defects using tools such as Azure DevOps, TFS, or JIRA.

Verify resolution of defects as per defined standards and ensure successful implementation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Strong understanding of upstream oil & gas applications (preferably EDT applications).

Basic knowledge of well engineering concepts including:

Well Construction: Drilling techniques, well control, drilling mechanics, fluids management, performance monitoring.

Well Completions: Completion design, well performance analysis.

Experience with engineering tools such as WellCat, WellPlan, and Compass is an added advantage.

Basic experience with test automation framework development using popular tools.

Solid understanding of SDLC and STLC , with experience across multiple test types including Smoke, Functional, Integration, Performance, Regression, and UAT.

Familiarity with test case management and defect tracking tools (Azure DevOps, TFS, JIRA).

Comfortable working in Agile development environments.

ISTQB Foundation Level certification is a plus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
