Shift Engineer

Job Title: Assistant – Grinding & Auxiliary Plant Operations Department: Operations – Pellet Plant Reporting To: Shift In-Charge / Plant Manager Job Type: Full-Time Education: [Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering – if applicable] Job Summary:We are seeking a responsible and proactive Assistant – Grinding & Auxiliary Plant Operations to support shift operations in achieving production targets, ensure smooth running of grinding and auxiliary plants, and maintain safety and environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities:Production & Process Management:Assist the Shift In-Charge to achieve ABP grinding targets (fines, additives). Plan and run auxiliary plants such as Additive Grinding Mills, Ball Mills, etc., based on requirements. Monitor assigned areas and report abnormalities or deviations to the Shift In-Charge. Ensure smooth operations of the Pellet Plant and Grinding Plants in coordination with the team. Allocate daily operational tasks to plant operators and casual workers. Generate and report data on critical equipment parameters, especially in the additive grinding section. Support maintenance teams in executing running and preventive maintenance activities. Safety & Environmental Management:Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and use of safety appliances during operations and shutdowns. Monitor and optimize the operation of dedusting systems to minimize emissions. Efficiently operate water treatment plants, monitor chemical usage (e.g., flocculants), and maintain appropriate dosage. Manage operation and performance of bag filters in the designated area. Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation departments during shutdown and maintenance activities. Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement in environmental standards. Skills & Competencies:Knowledge of plant operations in a pellet or grinding environment. Familiarity with additive grinding, dedusting systems, and auxiliary plant equipment. Strong understanding of safety and environmental regulations. Good communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams. Ability to work in shifts and under pressure to meet production deadlines.
