Location -

An excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial underwriting professional to take charge of underwriting mid to large-sized corporate accounts for the Rest of Maharashtra (ROM) region. This Pune-based role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to elevate their underwriting career with a reputed insurance provider.

Responsibilities -

• Manage underwriting operations for commercial lines (excluding Mumbai) in the ROM region.
• Assess risk, evaluate proposals, and provide tailored solutions for mid-to-large commercial accounts.
• Collaborate with brokers, internal sales teams, and risk engineers to finalize underwriting decisions.
• Monitor the underwriting portfolio for profitability, loss trends, and claims.
• Support regional/zonal strategies for growth and profitability in corporate underwriting.
• Stay updated on market developments and regulatory changes impacting the commercial insurance landscape.
• Mentor junior underwriters and assist in strengthening underwriting frameworks.

Requirements -

• 5+ years of experience in Commercial or Corporate Underwriting.
• Strong domain knowledge in Property, Engineering, Marine, and Liability underwriting.
• Proven ability to manage broker/client relationships and large accounts.
• Excellent communication, analytical and decision-making skills.
• Bachelor's/Masters degree; FIII/AIII certification preferred.
• Must be based in or open to relocation to Pune.
