Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • New Business Development & Lead Generation:

Proactively identify and research potential clients within target industries in Pune and across India, utilizing various prospecting tools and techniques.

Generate new leads through cold calling, email outreach, networking events, industry conferences, and leveraging professional platforms like LinkedIn.

Qualify leads to assess their needs, budget, and decision-making process.

Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline to consistently meet and exceed monthly/quarterly sales targets.

  • Client Needs Analysis & Solution Pitching:

Conduct in-depth discovery calls and meetings with prospective clients to understand their business objectives, challenges, and current marketing efforts.

Articulate the value proposition of our agency's digital marketing services (e.g., SEO, PPC, Social Media Marketing, Content Marketing, Web Design & Development, Email Marketing, Analytics, E-commerce solutions, etc.) in a clear, compelling, and client-centric manner.

Develop customized proposals and presentations that align our services with the client's specific needs and demonstrate a clear ROI.

  • Negotiation & Closing:

Effectively negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to close deals, ensuring profitability and mutual satisfaction.

Overcome objections and rejections professionally and persistently.

Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to close.

  • Relationship Management:

Build strong, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers within client organizations.

Ensure a smooth transition of new clients to the account management or project delivery teams post-sale.

Act as a point of contact for initial client queries and escalations until fully onboarded.

  • Market Intelligence & Reporting:

Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions in the digital marketing space, particularly within India.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline status in the CRM system (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).

Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to the Sales Manager.

  • Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with the marketing team to align sales efforts with marketing campaigns and generate qualified leads.

Work with the delivery teams (e.g., SEO specialists, content writers, designers) to ensure proposals are realistic and deliverable.

Preferred candidate profile

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills (English and Marathi/Hindi fluency preferred given the Pune location).

Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.

Proficiency in using CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) for lead management and sales tracking.

In-depth knowledge of various digital marketing channels (SEO, PPC, Social Media, Content Marketing, Web Development, etc.) and their business applications.

Results-oriented with a strong work ethic and a proactive approach.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Adaptable and quick learner, especially regarding new digital marketing trends and tools.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience selling to specific industries relevant to our agency's niche.
  • Established network of contacts in the Pune/Maharashtra business community.
  • Certifications in Google Ads, Google Analytics, or other relevant digital marketing platforms.
