Job Description

Brief Job Summary: The position is responsible for ensuring safe operations within the plant by implementing and monitoring safety systems, training personnel, conducting audits and inspections, and ensuring compliance with statutory and corporate safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Ensure strict adherence to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and factory safety regulations. Develop, implement, and monitor site-specific safety systems, policies, and standard operating procedures. Plan and conduct safety training sessions for employees, contractors, and visitors. Perform regular plant safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards. Conduct hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA) for work areas and activities. Execute PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) audits, procurement, and distribution. Manage the issuance of safety work permits in accordance with internal protocols. Monitor oxygen levels and presence of explosive gases in hot work areas. Assess the working environment for VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and toxic gases to ensure a safe atmosphere. Conduct regular work spot observations to identify and correct unsafe practices. Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety systems and standards. Organize and conduct emergency response drills and mock evacuation exercises. Lead or assist in the investigation of incidents/accidents and implement corrective and preventive actions. Follow up on the closure and effectiveness of corrective and remedial actions. Maintain and ensure the operational readiness of firefighting equipment and systems. Implement and align local safety practices with corporate EHS guidelines and initiatives. Promote and integrate industrial hygiene principles and practices within daily operations. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field; Diploma in Industrial Safety. 8 - 12 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment. Sound knowledge of EHS regulations, safety management systems, and risk assessment. Strong communication and training skills. Proficiency in conducting audits, incident investigations, and report preparation.
