Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and adaptable

Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

with expertise in managing Oracle databases hosted on Azure Virtual Machines as well as Azure SQL Server. This role involves patching, automation, auditing, monitoring, and performance tuning across both Oracle and Azure SQL environments. The DBA will ensure system availability, security, and performance while collaborating closely with application teams. The ideal candidate will also bring strong scripting and troubleshooting skills along with experience in compliance and governance activities.

Apply and manage Oracle patches and coordinate Linux OS patching on Azure VMs.
Monitor and manage cron jobs for Oracle database maintenance tasks.
Implement and review Oracle and SQL Server audit policies.
Conduct regular index health checks and schedule defragmentation.
Set up and manage monitoring tools to detect performance and storage issues.
Manage Azure SQL audit logs and support application teams in identifying anomalies.
Administer SQL users and ensure compliance with least-privilege principles.
Maintain and monitor Elastic Job Agents for automated index defragmentation.
Provide performance analysis for long-running or high-resource queries.
Configure alerts for performance/resource utilization and investigate abnormal behavior.
Track DBA activities for audit purposes using SQL Server logs.
