Senior Application Engineer

Job Description

Role & responsibilities : Application engineering tasks connected with the new projects (including clarification of customer technical requirements) and already running projects on the local market. Support on technical communication between the customers, MAHLE development department and MAHLE quality department Support of drive system setup at customer site including parametrization and drive system tuning Participation and support at customer's (lab and vehicle) testing during the complete validation phase Investigation of drive system technical issues at customer development department, at customer production and in the field Design of less complex customer dedicated test set-ups and testing of drive systems Collection of common technical information valid specifically for the local market Promotion activities of MAHLE drive systems on the local market Diagnosis for automotive traction drive systems and subsystems (e.g. inverter, E-motor, transmission, controls,) with the application-/traction drive-SW and vehicle behavior (torque controls, .) Work experience requirements : Electrical & Electronics communication experience in motor control system design or integration. BLDC, Induction and PMS motors Broad technical knowledge of main elements for electric/ hybrid vehicle powertrains Experience in calibration of off-the-shelf motor controllers. Excellent problem definition and problem-solving techniques. Control engineering with the focus on control algorithms for electric motors Vehicle communication networks and diagnostics with focus on CAN bus protocols Embedded systems hardware and software design Understanding of vehicle control architecture. Understanding of vehicle network protocols (CAN) Education requirements : B.E in Electrical and Electronics / Mechatronics / E&I with 3 to 6 years of experience in handling motors and controllers.
