SEIT Engineer

• Work as integral part of the software development and test squad
• Analyse software requirements and designs - Develop test designs, identifying relevant test boundary, equivalence classes, test methods
• Write tests and implement as test automation code based on Python Behave framework, targeted at specific test environments (SIL or HIL)
• For SIL rigs, develop/enhance test environment code & configuration for mocked signals / components
• Rapid resolution of any code quality issues detected during peer review or code scanning
• Prove-out of automated tests on SIL or HIL rigs
• Good practice use of Git for configuration management of code, including regular commits and merges to master
• Integration of test reporting utilising client specific standard approaches
• Analysis of test results and test logs, triaging to determine test issue vs product issue, raising defects as appropriate

SEIT Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for product & product testing knowledge, identification of right test cases to be developed at the right time, aligning with the client software development plan
• Understanding of the client test automation framework and methodology and maintenance of same in Agile/Squad sprint goals
• Delivery of test automation code in line with the client test automation framework quality and standards
• Implement tests stages in CI pipelines, testing tool configuration, and scripting where required

SEIT Essential Skills

• 5+ years experience testing software applications, ideally on embedded targets
• 3+ years experience with Python (strongly preferred) or another OO language
• Experienced advocate for practices such as Test-Driven Development and Pair Programming
• Experience with source code management and version control (Git/GitHub/GitLab)
• Experience with modern CI/CD tools and techniques
• Previous involvement in all stages of the software delivery lifecycle
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Experience in BDD and creating tests using Gherkin syntax
• Engineering Services Engineering Statement of Work
• Implementation of tests using Python Behave (or similar, Eg Robot) framework
• Experience with Docker or containerisation
• Experience with embedded architectures
• Experience with automotive and ethernet based networks - SOME/IP, DoIP, CAN-FD
• Strong programming skills
