Job Description

A quality manager for fruits and vegetables focuses on ensuring the quality and safety of produce from farm to consumer. This involves overseeing quality control processes, developing and implementing quality management systems, conducting inspections and audits, and addressing customer complaints. They also need to be familiar with industry regulations, and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

Developing and Implementing Quality Management Systems:This includes creating and maintaining procedures for handling, storing, and processing fruits and vegetables to meet quality standards.

Conducting Inspections and Audits:This involves regularly checking produce at various stages (e.g., during inbound, in storage, at distribution centers) to ensure it meets quality specifications.

Monitoring Quality Control:This includes checking for signs of damage, spoilage, contamination, and infestations. It also involves monitoring temperature and storage conditions to prevent issues

Managing Issues and Complaints:This involves investigating customer complaints, identifying the root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence

Experience:Extensive experience in quality assurance within the fresh produce industry is essential.

Knowledge:Familiarity with industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices is crucial.

Examples of Specific Tasks:

  • Inbound Inspection:Checking for signs of damage, infestation, or contamination during the delivery of produce.
  • Monitoring Storage Conditions:Ensuring that fruits and vegetables are stored at the correct temperature and humidity to prevent spoilage.
  • Assessing Produce Quality:Evaluating the appearance, texture, and overall quality of fruits and vegetables.
  • Investigating Customer Complaints:Determining the cause of a customer's complaint about produce quality and taking appropriate action.
  • Developing HACCP Plans:Implementing Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans to ensure food safety.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹700,000.43 - ₹800,000.00 per year
