Job Description

Collect blood and other specimens using standard techniques (venipuncture, fingerstick, heelstick). Verify patient identity and ensure accurate labeling of specimens. Maintain proper hygiene and sterilization standards before and after sample collection. Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, including centrifugation and packaging. Enter and maintain accurate records of collected samples in the system or logbook. Provide reassurance and explain procedures to patients in a calm, courteous manner. Ensure proper storage, handling, and transportation of samples to the lab. Maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and reorder as necessary. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines. Support home sample collections if required (optional, based on center policies).
