Job Description of Peoplesoft Administrator (Engineer)


Functional Description You are an 5 + years experienced PeopleSoft Administrator (Engineer) to lead and execute PeopleSoft application and PeopleTools upgrades (on premise) with knowledge of working on cloud environments, specifically Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will manage updates and patches using PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) and Change Assistant, and will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Elastic Search and Open Search.


Requirements & Key Responsibilities


Minimum 5 Years of experience working as a PeopleSoft administrator, PeopleSoft system engineer system consultant.

  • Upgrades and Patches: Lead and execute PeopleSoft application and PeopleTools upgrades (on premise) and manage updates and patches using PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) and Change Assistant.


  • Cloud Knowledge: Utilize knowledge of working in cloud environments, particularly Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).


  • Customizations Migration: Expertise in migrating projects and customizations.


  • Search Configuration: Install, configure, and troubleshoot Elastic Search and Open Search.


  • Integration: Experienced in configuring Integration Broker (IB) across various PeopleTools versions. Skilled in installing and managing digital certificates to enable

  • secure and seamless integration between PeopleSoft and third-party systems using REST and SOA web services.


  • Environment Management: Perform environment refreshes/cloning, including database copies and file system adjustments.


  • PeopleTools Management: Utilize PeopleTools such as Application Designer, Application Engine, Process Scheduler, Application Server, Configuration Manager, Integration Broker, Data Mover, and Change Assistant.


  • Versions: Work with PeopleTools PT8.60+ and HCM PUM 47+


  • Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain WebLogic, Tuxedo, Process Scheduler, Application Servers, and other infrastructure components.


  • Oracle Support Coordination: Coordinate with Oracle Support for SRs, patch analysis, and troubleshooting upgrade issues.


  • Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize performance pre- and post-upgrade.


  • Documentation: Develop and maintain upgrade documentation, impact assessments, and rollback strategies.


  • Automation: Implement automated scripts for routine admin tasks and system health checks.


  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with change management and internal/external audit policies.


  • Disaster Recovery: Participate in disaster recovery and backup/restore exercises post-upgrade.


Behavioral Skills


Coordination: You work as a point of contact for the business regarding the System Infrastructure requirement of the concerned IT system and expected to co-ordinate with the stakeholders (business & technical) for the IT ‘BUILD’ and ‘RUN’ activities.


Communication: You work intensively with different teams and stakeholders, across multiple geographical locations. You have the energy to solve problems and to communicate with your stakeholders in a connected way.


Languages: You are fluent in English communication (both verbal & written).
