Operation Engineer (BOE) – Boiler Desk Operation

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor multi-fuel fired boilers (25MW+ capacity) through DCS/SCADA systems.
• Ensure proper combustion control, maintain steam parameters, and optimize boiler efficiency.
• Supervise start-up, normal operation, load change, and shutdown procedures as per SOP.
• Ensure proper functioning of feedwater systems, ID/FD/PA fans, air preheaters, ESPs, and other auxiliaries.
• Conduct routine inspections, safety checks, and coordinate with field operators for smooth operations.
• Implement and monitor compliance with statutory requirements under IBR and plant safety norms.
• Carry out boiler safety valve testing, blowdown, and emergency handling as per procedures.
• Investigate operational abnormalities, troubleshoot issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain daily operational logs, reports, and statutory documentation.
• Coordinate with the Shift Incharge, Maintenance, and Safety teams for planned shutdowns and maintenance activities.
• Promote a safety-first culture and ensure adherence to permit-to-work (PTW) and lockout-tagout (LOTO) systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Mandatory: Valid BOE (Boiler Operation Engineer) Certificate issued by the State Boiler Board.

Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience in boiler operations in a thermal power plant or heavy industry.
• Hands-on experience with multi-fuel fired boilers and 25MW+ unit capacity preferred.

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹750,000.00 per month
