Nurse

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) qualified Nurse to join our Outpatient Department (OPD) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient patient flow, providing direct nursing care, assisting physicians during consultations, and educating patients on health management. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a patient-first approach to care.

• Patient Triage and Assessment:

  Greet patients, take vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure), measure height and weight, and record initial patient data and chief complaints accurately.



• Assisting Physicians:

  Prepare examination rooms, assist doctors during patient examinations and minor procedures (e.g., wound dressing, injections, minor suturing, nebulization, ear syringing), and ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are available.



• Medication Administration:

  Administer prescribed medications, injections, and vaccinations as per doctors orders, ensuring correct dosage, route, and patient identification, and monitoring for any immediate adverse reactions.



• Sample Collection:

  Collect various samples (e.g., blood, urine, sputum) as per protocol, ensure proper labeling, and arrange for timely dispatch to the laboratory.



• Wound Care and Dressings:

  Perform basic wound care, change dressings, and provide instructions to patients on home care for wounds.

• Health Education:

  Educate patients and their families on prescribed medications, diet plans, lifestyle modifications, disease management, and follow-up care instructions.



• Pre- and Post-Procedure Instructions:

  Provide clear pre-procedure instructions (e.g., fasting requirements, medication adjustments) and post-procedure care guidance.



• Emotional Support:

  Offer empathetic support to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring a comfortable and reassuring environment.

• Accurate Documentation:

  Maintain meticulous and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, vital signs, medications administered, procedures performed, and patient education provided, in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system or physical charts.



• Appointment Management:

  Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments and coordinating with other departments for diagnostic tests or specialist consultations.



• Reporting:

  Generate and maintain necessary reports related to OPD activities and patient statistics.

• Clinic Preparation:

  Ensure examination rooms are clean, well-stocked with supplies, and ready for patient consultations.



• Equipment Management:

  Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and instruments as per hospital policy, reporting any malfunctions or need for repairs.



• Infection Control:

  Strictly adhere to all infection control protocols, including hand hygiene, proper disposal of biomedical waste, and maintaining a sterile environment.



• Patient Safety:

  Ensure patient safety at all times, including fall prevention, correct patient identification, and adherence to all hospital policies and procedures.



• Emergency Response:

  Be prepared to assist in medical emergencies within the OPD, including basic life support if required.

• Teamwork:

  Collaborate effectively with doctors, specialists, front desk staff, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient OPD operations.



• Communication:

  Maintain clear and professional communication with patients, their families, and colleagues.
