Comprehensive Patient Care Delivery:
Provide holistic and individualized patient care to assigned patients on the ward, adhering to established nursing protocols and hospital policies.
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examination, and review of medical history, to formulate and update care plans.
Administer medications safely and accurately via various routes, ensuring correct dosage, timing, and documentation.
Perform and assist with medical procedures, wound care, and other treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Monitoring & Documentation:
Continuously monitor patient conditions, promptly identifying changes, and escalating concerns to the medical team as necessary.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient assessments, interventions, medication administration, and responses to treatment in the electronic health record.
Ensure all necessary consents and pre-procedure checklists are completed accurately.
Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate effectively with physicians, other nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and multidisciplinary patient care.
Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and their families, providing education, support, and addressing their concerns.
Actively participate in ward rounds, shift handovers, and departmental meetings.
Safety & Quality Assurance:
Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, patient safety guidelines, and all hospital policies and procedures.
Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to patient safety, including falls, pressure injuries, and medication errors.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall standard of nursing care on the ward.
Maintain professional competence through continuous learning and adherence to the standards set by the Indian Nursing Council and other relevant regulatory bodies.
Mentorship & Supervision (as applicable):
Guide and support junior nursing staff, nursing assistants, and students in delivering quality patient care.
Demonstrate exemplary nursing practice as a role model for the ward team.
