Middleware Support Engineer- L2

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Level 2 (L2) Middleware Support Engineer

• L2 Middleware Administration:

  
  Provide L2-level support for

  JBOSS, Apache, Tomcat, IIS, NGINX

  , and

  WebSphere Application Server (WAS)

  including installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, upgrade, patching, troubleshooting, and monitoring.
  

• Daily Operations & Performance Tuning:

  
  Perform routine administrative tasks, including deployments, resource management, performance tuning, and system optimization for all middleware platforms.

• Monitoring & System Health Checks:

  
  Continuously monitor key server/system parameters such as disk space, CPU, memory, I/O, kernel, and network utilization to maintain middleware performance and availability.

• Production/Test Environment Support:

  
  Provide ongoing support for production and test environments. Troubleshoot and resolve middleware-related issues, conduct root cause analysis, and document findings.

• Backup, Restore & Disaster Recovery:

  
  Configure, validate, and monitor backup and restoration processes. Support recovery operations in case of system crashes or failures.

• Patching & Version Upgrades:

  
  Regularly perform patching and version upgrades across all middleware components, ensuring minimal downtime and system integrity.

• Audit, Logging & Vendor Coordination:

  
  Monitor and analyze system logs, assist with audit compliance, address findings, and escalate complex issues to vendors or higher-level support when needed.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience:

  
  35 years of relevant experience in

  L2 middleware support

  roles.
  

• Technical Competence:

  
  Strong understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, scripting knowledge (e.g., shell or batch), and system performance tuning best practices.

• Team Collaboration:

  
  Ability to work in coordination with L1, L3 teams, application stakeholders, and third-party vendors.

Certifications (Required/Preferred)

Mandatory Certifications:

• L1 and L2 certifications in middleware technologies (e.g., JBOSS, Apache Tomcat, WebSphere, NGINX, IIS)
  

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in JBOSS Administration

  or equivalent
  

• IBM Certified Administrator – WebSphere Application Server
