Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on, people-first Manager to lead our Digital Commerce team. In this role, you ll balance technical depth with leadership guiding engineers, enhancing our CI/CD infrastructure, and ensuring timely delivery of scalable solutions. You ll cultivate a culture of ownership, drive performance, and ensure clear documentation for long-term team success. What You ll Do Lead & Develop Teams (30%) Mentor and grow a team of talented engineers, creating a culture of trust, collaboration, and accountability Set clear expectations, provide regular performance feedback, and support individual development plans Drive Technical Excellence (25%) Review and guide code primarily in Java (Spring MVC & Spring Boot), maintaining high standards for architecture, performance, and maintainability Assist in hands-on development when necessary and help make key architectural decisions Improve CI/CD & Engineering Operations (15%) Champion CI/CD best practices; own the health of our build, test, and deployment pipelines Collaborate with DevOps and QA to ensure stability and speed of delivery Resolve Issues & Guide Escalations (15%) Lead and support root-cause investigations of technical issues Ensure the team is unblocked by helping troubleshoot problems or involving the right experts from other teams Collaborate Across Teams (10%) What We re Looking For 6+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a people management role Strong coding skills in Java, with hands-on experience using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and MySQL Familiarity with LuceneSearch or other search engine technologies Experience leading teams through design, development, deployment, and production support Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and agile development practices Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills Bonus Points Experience working with containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes) Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Passion for mentoring and career development Prior experience improving team-wide documentation practices Partner with Product, QA, Operations, and cross-functional teams to align priorities and roadmaps Provide clear, timely updates to stakeholders on progress, risks, and trade-offs Strengthen Documentation & Knowledge Sharing (5%) Encourage engineers to document feature behavior, decisions, and integrations Contribute to and enforce standards for internal documentation to support onboarding and continuity Bachelor s degree in business, software engineering or computer science. Min 6 years in software development with a preference to coding or QA activities. Strong preference for experience with working with agile development concepts.
