Key Responsibilities: Documentation & Advisory: Vetting and drafting loan documentation for secured/unsecured loans. Review and advise on legal risk in lending and operational transactions. Draft/review agreements including vendor contracts, MoUs, NDAs, lease deeds, etc. Litigation & Disputes: Handle and manage litigation and arbitration matters (civil/criminal/consumer). Liaise with external legal counsels, advocates, and law firms. Represent the bank in legal proceedings as required. Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure compliance with RBI regulations, banking laws, and internal policies. Provide legal opinion and guidance to internal departments on various regulatory and operational matters. Recovery & Support to Collections: Assist recovery teams with legal support for enforcement actions under SARFAESI, DRT, and other recovery laws. Draft/review notices under Section 138 of NI Act, loan recall, and other recovery-related communication. Risk Mitigation: Identify potential legal risks in business operations and suggest mitigation strategies. Conduct legal audits and reviews periodically.
