Lead Engineer (Java / Spring Boot / Microservice)

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading the development of core platform services and APIs. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot, as well as architecting scalable backend solutions with MongoDB and distributed services. You will be expected to write clean, maintainable, and testable code with performance in mind, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features in an Agile startup environment. You will own the full development lifecycle from requirements to deployment and monitoring, driving engineering excellence by setting and enforcing best practices in code quality, performance, and security. Additionally, you will review code, mentor junior engineers, and actively participate in technical discussions and architecture reviews. Ensuring that CI/CD pipelines are robust and aligned with quality assurance practices will also be a key aspect of your role. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in backend development with hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Microservice Architecture, MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, RESTful APIs, and JSON data modeling. Proficiency in Git, Docker, and CI/CD tools is essential, along with a solid understanding of application security, scalability, caching, and error handling. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong written and verbal communication abilities are also required. Candidates holding a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Masters in Computer Science Engineering (M.Tech /MCA) from a recognized university will be preferred. Experience with messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus, along with exposure to performance optimization and profiling tools. An understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and other auth mechanisms, as well as experience in startup or fast-paced environments, will be beneficial.
