Stay abreast of the latest advancements in ophthalmology through continuing education and training. Requirements Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. Residency training in ophthalmology from an accredited program. Board certification in ophthalmology. Valid state medical license to practice as an ophthalmologist. Excellent clinical skills and the ability to provide compassionate care to patients. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well in a team environment. Preferred Skills Experience in a busy outpatient setting. Proficiency in performing a wide range of eye surgeries. Knowledge of the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies in ophthalmology.
