Job description Job Title: Manpower Planning Engineer Department: Process Excellence Industry: BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) Reports to: Head of Process Excellence Job Description Role Summary: The Manpower Planning Engineer is responsible for analyzing business needs and forecasting workforce requirements to ensure optimal staffing levels. This role supports operations by aligning workforce availability with demand to meet service level agreements (SLAs), maximize efficiency, and control costs. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement workforce forecasting models and tools for short-term and long-term planning. Analyze production volume and trends, service level targets, and shrinkage data to determine optimal staffing. Collaborate with operations, recruitment, and training teams to ensure timely ramp-up/down of resources. Monitor schedule adherence and suggest real-time adjustments to minimize under or overstaffing. Generate reports on manpower utilization, productivity, and efficiency. Conduct variance analysis between forecast and actual metrics and recommend improvements. Participate in capacity planning and budgeting exercises. Utilize workforce management (WFM) tools and ERP systems for planning and analysis. Support automation and digital transformation efforts in workforce planning processes. Ensure compliance with internal staffing policies. --- Job Specification Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Industrial/Production Engineering, or related fields. Certification in workforce management tools (e.g., NICE IEX, Verint, Genesys WFM) is a plus. Experience: 35 years of experience in manpower planning or workforce management, preferably in a BPO or service sector environment. Proven experience in forecasting, scheduling, and capacity planning. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, macros). Familiarity with WFM software and ERP tools. Basic understanding of data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is desirable. Knowledge of statistical modeling and forecasting techniques. Behavioral Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and coordination abilities. Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
