Description
As an Ice Cream Scooper, your primary responsibility will be to serve delicious and high-quality ice cream products to customers. You will work in an ice cream parlour, creating delightful experiences for customers by providing excellent service and ensuring their satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Scoop and serve ice cream: Use appropriate tools and techniques to scoop ice cream accurately and neatly into cones, cups, or dishes.
Maintain cleanliness: Ensure that the serving area, display cases, and scooping utensils are clean and well-maintained to meet health and safety standards.
Provide exceptional customer service: Greet customers with a friendly and positive attitude, assist them in choosing flavours, and answer any questions they may have about the menu items. Offer samples to help customers make informed decisions.
Take and process orders: Listen attentively to customer requests, accurately record their orders, and ensure that they receive the correct flavours, toppings, and portion sizes.
Handle cash transactions: Accept cash, credit card, or UPI payments from customers and provide accurate change when necessary. Operate cash registers or point-of-sale systems efficiently.
Upsell and promote products: Suggest additional items, toppings, or combinations to customers to enhance their experience and increase sales. Provide information about specials, promotions, or new flavours.
Maintain inventory: Monitor ice cream inventory levels and inform the supervisor or manager when supplies need to be replenished. Assist in receiving and organising deliveries.
Clean and sanitise workstations: Keep the scooping area, display cases, and equipment clean and sanitised throughout the day. Follow proper food handling and safety procedures and wear given uniform while in the store all times
Follow health and safety regulations: Adhere to local health and safety regulations, including proper food storage, handling, and personal hygiene practices. Report any safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor.
Collaborate with the team: Work effectively with other ice cream scoopers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure a smooth operation and a positive work environment.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in food service, customer service, or a similar role is preferred but not always required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy containers of ice cream.
Basic maths skills for cash handling.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
