Position Overview

The Head – Scrap, Sale & Recycling Management will oversee the end-to-end process of scrap handling, sale, and recycling at the Chikhli facility. This role ensures efficient scrap management, maximization of revenue from scrap sales, and adherence to recycling and environmental best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement processes for scrap collection, segregation, storage, and disposal in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Oversee the sale of scrap materials, including market analysis, vendor identification, negotiation, and contract management to maximize revenue.
• Establish and manage relationships with certified recyclers and scrap buyers; ensure transparent and ethical transactions.
• Monitor and analyze scrap generation to identify reduction opportunities and process improvements.
• Ensure all recycling activities comply with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of scrap inventory, sales transactions, and recycling activities; prepare regular management reports.
• Lead and train a team responsible for scrap handling, sale, and recycling, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and finance teams for process alignment and audit readiness.
• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to scrap value recovery, recycling rates, and cost efficiency.
• Stay updated with market trends, recycling technologies, and government regulations relevant to waste and scrap management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Management, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in scrap management, sales, and recycling, preferably in manufacturing or solar/energy sectors.
• Demonstrated experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and compliance with EHS standards.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for inventory and sales management.
• Certifications in waste management, recycling, or EHS compliance are advantageous.
