Fund Controller

As a controller professional in the Alternatives Financial Controllers team of the Private Equity Team at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, you will collaborate with a seasoned team to support a large Institutional High Yield Portfolio. Leveraging your expertise, you will play a vital role in crafting investment strategies that drive value for our clients and contribute to the success of the Asset Management business. Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive reviews of quarter-end property financial statements, making GAAP adjustments, performing variance analysis, and evaluating asset and debt appraisals. Additionally, you will be tasked with scrutinizing fund financial statements, NAV pricing, management and incentive fee calculations, as well as calculating investment-level NAVs and IRRs. Your role will also involve analyzing financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reasonability, reviewing client allocations and returns, and managing investor capital calls and distributions. The ideal candidate for this role is a Qualified CA/ACCA/CPA/MBA with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Fund accounting and financial reporting. You should possess a solid understanding of private equity and hedge fund mechanics, with previous experience in partnership accounting and financial statement preparation/review. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be required to liaise with auditors, senior-level financial controllers/portfolio managers, and external stakeholders. Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is preferred, along with the ability to work autonomously and effectively prioritize tasks, especially in high-pressure environments.
