Job Title: Dean College of Pharmacy Location: South India (Candidates from South Indian Institutions preferred) | Permanent Compensation: Upto 40,00,000 per annum (based on experience and qualifications) About the Role We are seeking a visionary and accomplished academic leader to serve as Dean Pharmacy. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in pharmacy education, academic leadership, research excellence, and a commitment to student success. This is a unique opportunity to lead a reputed College of Pharmacy into its next phase of growth, innovation, and societal impact. Key Responsibilities Academic Leadership Develop and execute the strategic vision and academic roadmap for the College of Pharmacy, in alignment with the university's mission. Lead curriculum development, instructional innovation, and continuous academic program assessment. Ensure compliance with national and international accreditation standards (e.g., NAAC, NBA, PCI). Promote academic excellence and faculty development. Administrative Leadership Manage college-wide budgets, resources, and personnel effectively. Lead faculty hiring, mentoring, performance reviews, and succession planning. Cultivate an inclusive academic culture that values diversity, equity, and excellence. Research and Innovation Foster a robust research ecosystem within the college, encouraging faculty and student-led research initiatives. Facilitate grant writing, funding opportunities, and research collaborations across institutions and industries. Promote interdisciplinary research and translational science. Community Engagement and Industry Collaboration Build strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders. Represent the college in external academic, healthcare, and industry forums. Student Affairs and Support Champion student success initiatives including academic advising, career counseling, and placement support. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment. Candidate Profile Required Qualifications Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Pharmacy or a closely related field. Minimum 15 years of academic experience, including significant leadership roles such as Dean, Associate Dean, or Department Chair. Proven track record in research and scholarly publications with successful funding/grant acquisition. Deep understanding of regulatory and accreditation frameworks relevant to pharmacy education. Strong interpersonal, strategic planning, and leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in curriculum design, academic audits, and outcome-based education. Demonstrated success in academic administration and budget management. Awareness of global trends and emerging technologies in pharmacy education. Budget Management Work in partnership with the finance department to develop and manage the academic budget. Ensure effective resource allocation to support program delivery, faculty initiatives, and student services. Skills & Competencies - Deep expertise in data science across research, teaching, and industry interaction - Proven leadership in academic administration, curriculum development, and faculty oversight - Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership capabilities - Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, administrative staff, and external stakeholders - Commitment to academic innovation and continuous improvement - Familiarity with the EdTech landscape and online learning methodologies - Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and educational technology - Programming skills in Python, R, and SQL - Hands-on experience with tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn - Expertise in event coordination, project management, and problem-solving
