Engineering Manager

As the Software Engineering Manager at Silicon Labs, you will lead a team in Hyderabad responsible for core microcontroller platform software and embedded security features. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and people management skills to deliver foundational components for IoT device platforms. Your responsibilities will include: - Shaping the core software stack for Silicon Labs wireless SoCs. - Building secure and scalable platforms for smart homes, industrial systems, and commercial applications. - Collaborating with industry experts in an innovation-driven environment. - Contributing to both proprietary and open-source ecosystems for IoT development. Key areas of ownership: - Developing and maintaining low-level platform software like peripheral drivers, RTOS integration, and embedded services. - Delivering embedded security features including cryptographic services, secure boot, and trusted execution infrastructure. In this role, you will lead, coach, and grow a high-performing engineering team while fostering a culture of innovation and delivery excellence. You will work closely with global engineering, product, and hardware teams to align development priorities and execution strategies. Technical ownership includes: - Design and delivery of core embedded software such as peripheral drivers, RTOS abstraction layers, and system infrastructure components. - Integration of security components like secure boot, cryptographic accelerators, and secure key storage. - Promoting best practices in embedded development, CI/CD processes, and rigorous validation for high-quality software delivery. Required qualifications include a degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, 12+ years of experience in embedded systems software development, expertise in embedded C/C++, and strong knowledge of embedded system security concepts. Preferred qualifications encompass experience with Zephyr RTOS, knowledge of secure firmware updates, and exposure to industry certifications and compliance programs.
