The Software Engineer II (SE II) in Solution Test is responsible for the implementation and testing of customer specific scenarios/use-cases of our BIG-IP, Nginx and F5 XC products. This includes creating test scenarios and automating them. The work includes creating and publishing technical content, demos for customers and for internal sales consumption. SE IIs are assigned multiple feature areas and will regularly work with team members in geographically dispersed locations.
They will also collaborates with internal personnel in areas of expertise. SEs exhibit strong competence utilizing various troubleshooting tools, facilities and equipment in the course of debugging issues found during work. SEs build relationships with team members and accept ownership of features.
Primary Responsibilities:
Works both independently and with senior engineers to understand product requirements, customer specific scenarios, architecture and new feature designsPublishing and creating technical content and demos for internal teams and customers.Implements automated tests and infrastructure that provide feature coverageDevelop automated test systems to replicate real world scenarios that can be plugged into a continuous integration environment.Participates actively in code review process; posting scripts, incorporating feedback along with reviewing automation submitted by other team membersAnalyze and evaluate test results, report and assist in resolution of product issuesProactively and effectively communicates status, plan-of-action, and resolution of issuesWorks affectively to deliver on planned and committed schedulesOperate in a fluid and dynamic environment
Knowledge and Skills
Good Knowledge on any one cloud technologies (AWS, Azure or GCP) is requiredTest automation experience with Python is requiredKnowledge of the common hypervisors (e.g. VMware, KVM)Knowledge of Terraform and Ansible.Knowledge of containerizationDocker, KubernetesKnowledge on OWASP API Security, LLM is an added advantage.Should be proficient in L2/L3 network protocol testing.Experience with Github or other source control management tools preferredCI/CD and Agile software development experienceGood written, presentation and communication skills.Proficient in white box and black box testing methodologiesExperience with web technologies (eg Rest, JSON,Postman etc)Strong organizational skills, analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills. Qualifications:
3+ years of professional experience in the testing and/or development of computer software, preferably in the Linux environmentDemonstrated experience in testing fundamentals.
