Design Engineer Rotating Equipment

As a Design Engineer at Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases, you will play a crucial role in implementing project designs and enhancing existing products following department procedures. Under the guidance of the project team plans, your responsibilities will revolve around researching, evaluating products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability. Your role will entail ensuring the fit, form, and function of designs, collaborating with various departments to ensure the production and packaging of final products align with customer specifications and ACD procedures. Your essential functional responsibilities will include designing, modeling, and testing prototypes for products, conducting research to create design proposals, and establishing concepts, performance, and production criteria. You will be tasked with identifying and selecting materials required for production, producing final hand drawings and specifications, and creating parts lists while ensuring value engineering practices are integrated into the designs. Additionally, you will participate in planning marketing initiatives, negotiate production processes, and evaluate products and processes for cost efficiency and reliability. Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) tools, you will create concepts, and layout pumps and systems while adhering to department processes and procedures. Your role will involve providing feedback and ideas for process improvements, participating in design reviews, raising Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), and supporting manufacturing and assembly teams. Your expertise in Solid Works and GD&T, coupled with at least five years of design engineering experience, will be instrumental in analyzing engineering sketches, specifications, and drawings to determine design factors and ensuring compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field is a prerequisite for this role, along with proficiency in SolidWorks and FEA. Your ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and flexibility to work overtime as required will be necessary to meet the demands of the job. Your strong communication skills and collaborative approach will be essential as you work with internal stakeholders and project teams to meet project requirements effectively.
