Key Responsibilities: Create detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings for mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software (preferably Solid Edge or SolidWorks). Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and procurement to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet project requirements. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to support production and assembly processes. Develop and modify designs based on testing results, client feedback, and production constraints. Provide technical support during prototype development and production runs. Ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures. Maintain accurate documentation and revision control of engineering drawings. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in an engineering design or related role. Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D drafting with CAD tools, preferably Solid Edge or SolidWorks. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including casting, machining, and sheet metal fabrication. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Role: We are seeking a skilled and innovative Mechanical Designer with a solid background in Research and Development (RD) to assist our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, testing, and refinement of mechanical components and systems, bringing innovative concepts to life. This role requires strong analytical abilities, creative problem-solving skills, and a passion for advancing mechanical design through research-driven insights. DO: - Design and Development: Proven ability to develop and design mechanical components, systems and technical specification. Familiarity with the Stage Gate process for product development, ensuring design projects move smoothly through critical phases from concept to completion, adhering to timelines and quality standards - 3D Modelling and CAD:Proficiency in SolidWorks, including part modeling, assembly, and drafting. Experience with using Solid works PDM Works systems to ensure traceability and version control. Experience in generating BOMs and working with engineering change orders (ECOs).Strong understanding of GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and its application. - Design Analysis Skills: Hands-on experience with FEA software tools and other engineering analysis platforms to evaluate structural, thermal, and fatigue aspects of designs. Knowledge of welding standards (e.g., AWS, ISO) and their integration into design and drafting processes - Effective Communication Skills: Fluent in both written and spoken English, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts, technical specifications, and project updates to cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and collaborative problem-solving. Experienced Mechanical Engineer adept in New Product Development, Conceptual Design, Engineering Design and Detailing, Engineering Calculations, BOM release, Production and Testing Support for Industrial Machineries and Equipment such as Printing, Packaging, Converting, Textile and Paper machineries and discrete product machineries. Essential duties and responsibilities: Mechanical Engineer will be reporting to the Engineering Leader and provide engineering support to Barry-Wehmiller divisions on the below areas: Design of product line variants Design modifications of existing machines Basic engineering calculations Concept Development Detailed Design Detail drawings and Bill of Materials release using SolidWorks (2018 above)/EPDM and Infor XA applications as per client standards Perform concept/design/manufacturing reviews and participate in testing, safety, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting reviews with customer. Perform risk assessments of new designs using DFMEA or similar techniques. Acquiring and maintaining knowledge in functional specifications, design intents and latest developments in the industry related to client product lines. Technical skills: Sound knowledge in mechanical engineering design principles. Excellent knowledge in manufacturing processes. Extensive knowledge in engineering calculations. Experience in calculation and selection of commercial components such as bearings, gearbox, couplings, motors, pneumatics/hydraulic components, linear/rotary actuators, etc.). Knowledge of electrical components, sensors, encoders, etc. Experience in handling large assemblies using SolidWorks (2018 above). Knowledge in the principles of operation of industrial machinery such as Printing, Packaging and Converting Machines, Textile machines, Paper machines and discrete product machineries. FEA using SolidWorks simulation (experience in structural and dynamic analysis using ANSYS is an added advantage). Knowledge in Metric and Imperial (Inch) Design Standards. Experience in creating and updating functional specifications of machines Experience in replacement of obsolete commercial components by maintaining Form, Fit and Functions of the existing design of the machines. Experience technical problem-solving skills and providing out of the box solutions for complex problems. CAD modeling and detailing using SolidWorks is mandatory, experience in Creo and UG is an added advantage. Excellent knowledge in GDT and tolerance stack-up analysis. Experience in Value Engineering and Cost Optimization using FAST or similar techniques. Mandatory Tool Skills: SolidWorks version 2018 above EPDM 2018 above AutoCAD MS Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Travel: The candidate will be required to travel to other divisions of Barry-Wehmiller in US and Europe on short term for training and project support activities. Education and Experience: Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering with more than 5 years of relevant work experience Minimum 3 years of experience in Industrial Machineries and Equipment, discrete product machineries Experience in Printing, Packaging and Converting Machines OEM is preferrable.

Have complete understanding of the full product life cycle process and stakeholders and manage the product life cycle using PLM tool-Windchill. Support the execution of processes like Product Design, Validation Consideration Checklist, Design Review, and use of tools such as GD&T, Tolerance Stack Up and CREO to support high-quality design decisions and refinement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product/project engineers to design concepts and ensure they meet project requirements. Meet functional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Plan and complete the project deliverables meeting the quality and timeline requirements.
