Dean of Computer Science

1. Craft a vision of the School and create a strategic plan of the school.
2. Closely plan & supervise the teaching & research activities of the school for each semester, ensure the delivery of the curriculum as per course structure approved, conduct of the classes as per time table.
3. He/ She will be the face of the School of Studies.
4. He/ She will be responsible for the registration of the students at the beginning of the each semester, which will include the student’s option for the elective courses, etc.
5. He/ She will be responsible for designing the curriculum in consultation with faculty and getting it approved from Board of Studies. He will be the Chairman of BOS.
6. He will supervise maintenance of the attendance record of all students by the faculty with required level of transparency.
7. Will be responsible for issue of timely warning to students having short attendance and also for Fee dues as intimated by Accounts.
8. He will remain in touch with the students for redressing their academic grievances and coordinate with other authorities of the University for mitigating their day to day grievances.
9. He will have continuous meetings with the faculty to review the academic progress of students and take remedial measures where required. He will keep a record of such meeting.
10. He will promote research and development among its faculty including writing of papers, seminars, conferences, undertaking of projects. The main aim is to develop & retain young faculty.
11. He will prepare a panel of internal as well as external paper setters & get approved from Vice Chancellor.
12. He will ensure timely setting of papers as per schedule circulated by COE.
13. He will be responsible for the conduct & declaration of results for various components of internal examinations.
14. He will be responsible for Examination of copies as per time schedule circulated by COE.
15. He will sanction C/L, E/L of the faculty, keeping in view the entitlement of leaves and that the classes should not suffer because of non availability of teachers and the possibility of substitution.

All leaves application will be forwarded by him/her to Vice-Chancellor’s office who will send to Registrar/ Admin branch for the purpose of deciding salary days for each month. Leave will be sanctioned only after the Registrar/ Admin office certifies regarding the entitlement of leave on the leave form.

1. Dean will be decide the period/ dates of summer/ winter vacation for each faculty to ensure that work of the school/ university does not suffer, not exceeding the entitled days forwarded by Registrar/Admin office.
2. Any other work instructed by the higher authorities.
