As a Freelance Data Center Technician at Reboot Monkey, a leading provider of IT solutions and services, you will be responsible for providing on-demand support to data centers globally. Your role involves hardware installation, troubleshooting, and network management. You must have extensive expertise in data center operations and software to ensure smooth and secure operations. Your key responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, networking equipment, and other hardware for optimal performance. You will monitor data center operations both remotely and on-site, promptly diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Managing and troubleshooting networking devices such as Cisco and Juniper routers and switches is crucial for secure and efficient network operations. In addition, you will handle Linux and Windows-based systems, performing system updates, patches, and security enhancements as required. Documenting all installations, repairs, maintenance tasks, and system performance is essential for providing detailed reports to the remote management team. Implementing and maintaining security protocols to protect data center infrastructure is also a key responsibility to ensure compliance with industry standards. Collaboration with remote IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders is necessary to support data center operations and assist in planning and executing data center projects. Reboot Monkey offers flexibility in choosing tasks without a minimum hour commitment, a professional work environment, competitive compensation, and growth opportunities. Ideally, you should have an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, although related fields are also acceptable. A minimum of 3 years of experience in data center operations, particularly independent or freelance projects, is required. Technical skills should include hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper networking devices, proficiency in managing Windows and Linux-based systems, and a solid understanding of networking principles. Certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, or CompTIA Linux+ are highly desirable. General requirements include the ability to travel to various data center locations, flexibility to work outside regular hours, access to necessary tools and equipment, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities for remote team collaboration.,
