Content Producer - Online - Photo

• Ensure adherence to photo guidelines at all times.
• Work independently and partner with various teams across for a best-in-class visual experience.
• Relate to the local needs of the US user, or any other assigned market.
• Understand and research content requirements, topics and editorial briefs to ensure contextually relevant images at all times.
• Identify, source and crop the most appropriate available images. Pictures should define and fit the context of the requested topics/content in the best possible manner.
• Work with fixed and tight deadlines in everyday as well as breaking news scenarios, where speed and accuracy are of the essence.
• Provide standalone and multiple images, as well as curate slideshows, that meet the brief provided by editors and showcase or complement a topic in the right editorial context.
• Ideate and curate pictorially-driven slideshows.
• Brief may also be extended to search topics and replication of partner content.
• Continuously be on the lookout to improve the visual quality and appearance of key areas.
• Contribute to a forward planning structure that ensures preparedness for big events.
• Work with editors across different time zones.
• Liaison with technology teams to improve and test current/future MSN products.
• Understand and support a variety of other business objectives.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

• An eye for spotting stunning and topically relevant photography from multiple sources.
• Photo journalistic know how in topics of interest for the US and international audience.
• Ability to deal with all/most subjects (as described in the first section above).
• Understanding of editorial context to ensure correct representation of a story or event.
• Ability to generate ideas for topical and photo-led slideshows.
• Experience in a fast-paced online environment, ideally with an international outlet.
• Understanding of how to deliver quick results and ensure smooth workflow in breaking news scenarios.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail, an appreciation for beautiful visuals and a passion for editorial excellence.
• Ready understanding of how search works and how to drive engagement over the internet.
• Writing skills and prior experience in the area would be a differentiating factor.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-4 years of experience in photo editing/journalism, ideally aimed at an international audience.
• Highly proficient in Photoshop and other photo-editing tools.
• Understanding and prior experience with content management systems and other online tools.
• Experience of handling photo media, generating slideshow ideas and adding captions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to collaborate across international teams to deliver shared goals.
• Certificate/degree in photo journalism or related disciplines preferred.
