Job Description

As a Compliance Manager , you'll be instrumental in upholding the financial integrity and regulatory adherence of our operations. You'll support the daily execution of general ledger-impacted processes, providing essential guidance to clients. Your core responsibilities will involve meticulous accounting functions, including account balancing, ledger reconciliation, precise reporting, and effective discrepancy resolution. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of financial regulations, and the ability to lead and motivate a team towards achieving financial goals. Key Responsibilities Managing Work, Projects, and Policies: Coordinate and implement accounting work and projects as assigned, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Coordinate, implement, and follow up on Accounting SOP audits across all areas of the property to ensure compliance and efficiency. Comply with Federal and State laws applying to fraud and collection procedures, safeguarding the organization's legal standing. Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc., for various stakeholders. Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and effectively solve problems. Compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, or verify financial information or data with precision. Balance credit card ledgers meticulously. Verify contracts for groups and perform credit reference checks for direct billed groups if necessary, mitigating financial risks. Maintaining Finance and Accounting Goals: Achieve and exceed established goals, including performance goals, budget goals, and team goals. Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work efficiently. Submit reports in a timely manner, consistently meeting delivery deadlines. Ensure profits and losses are documented accurately, providing a clear financial picture. Monitor all applicable taxes, ensuring that taxes are current, collected, and/or accrued correctly. Maintain a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard company assets. Complete period-end functions accurately each period. Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, fostering efficient control and utilization of financial resources. Demonstrating and Applying Accounting Knowledge: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes. Demonstrate knowledge of return check procedures and implement them effectively. Demonstrate knowledge of the Gross Revenue Report and its implications. Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with write-off procedures. Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with consolidated deposit procedures. Keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job to stay ahead of industry changes. Utilize computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, develop financial spreadsheets, set up functions, enter data, or process information. Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards. Leading Accounting Teams: Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate for sound financial/business decision-making; demonstrate honesty/integrity; and consistently lead by example. Motivate and provide a work environment where employees are productive and engaged. Impose deadlines and effectively delegate tasks. Provide an open door policy and maintain high visibility in areas of responsibility. Understand how to manage in a culturally diverse work environment. Manage the quality process in areas of customer service and employee satisfaction within the team. Managing and Conducting Human Resource Activities: Support the development, mentoring, and training of employees. Provide constructive coaching and counseling to employees. Train individuals on account receivable posting techniques. Additional Responsibilities: Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates via telephone, in written form, email, or in person. Demonstrate personal integrity in all professional dealings. Use effective listening skills to understand concerns and feedback. Demonstrate self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm. Manage group or interpersonal conflict effectively. Inform and/or update executives, peers, and subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner. Manage time well and possess strong organizational skills. Present ideas, expectations, and information in a concise, well-organized way. Use problem-solving methodology for decision-making and follow-up. Make collections calls if necessary. Candidate Profile Education and Experience: 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major; no work experience required. OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Finance and Accounting or a related major; 2 years experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area.
