Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Chinese Commi 1 to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing high-quality Chinese dishes while maintaining hygiene standards, supporting senior chefs, and ensuring timely service in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of authentic Chinese dishes under the guidance of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef
• Maintain mise-en-place and ensure all ingredients and equipment are ready before service
• Follow standard recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, equipment, and utensils
• Comply with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards at all times
• Store and label food items properly and monitor food stock levels
• Receive and inspect deliveries, ensuring freshness and quality of ingredients
• Assist in minimizing waste and optimizing kitchen efficiency
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and service staff to ensure smooth coordination

Requirements:

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in the Chinese section
• Basic knowledge of Chinese ingredients, sauces, and cooking techniques (wok handling, steaming, stir-frying, etc.)
• Ability to work in a team and under pressure during busy service hours
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
• Good hygiene practices and understanding of kitchen safety protocols
• Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays
