Job Description

Overview:The Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the [ship/aircraft], ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. As the highest-ranking officer on board, the Captain leads the crew and manages all aspects of the journey from departure to arrival. Key Responsibilities:Command and control the [ship/aircraft] ensuring safety of crew, passengers, cargo, and vessel/aircraft. Navigate and operate the vessel/aircraft according to established routes, schedules, and weather conditions. Make critical decisions in emergency situations to safeguard lives and property. Ensure compliance with international, national, and company regulations including safety and environmental protocols. Supervise, lead, and motivate the crew; conduct briefings and training sessions as needed. Communicate effectively with port authorities, air traffic control, and company operations. Oversee maintenance and inspections, reporting any defects or incidents promptly. Maintain accurate logs and documentation related to voyage, maintenance, and incidents. Manage onboard resources efficiently, including fuel, supplies, and personnel. Conduct post-operation evaluations and report on performance and any issues encountered.
